If you subscribe to The Literacy Hill by email or purchase resources from our store, paid or free, we may store your details.

Student Information and Confidentiality

The Literacy Hill collects information about students only when it is necessary to provide literacy intervention, tutoring, coaching, assessment, progress monitoring, and related educational services.

Student information may include assessment results, session notes, progress records, work samples, reports, and other information relevant to supporting a student's learning needs.

All student information is treated as confidential and used solely to provide educational services and support student progress.

Student records are retained only while a student is actively receiving services from The Literacy Hill. When services cease and the student is no longer a client, all student records, assessment data, notes, reports, and associated paperwork will be securely destroyed unless we are required by law to retain them.

The Literacy Hill will not discuss, share, or disclose information about an individual student without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, except where required by law.

Where services are provided within a school setting, The Literacy Hill may communicate and collaborate with relevant school staff to plan, deliver, and review literacy intervention and support programs that best meet the student's educational needs.

If parents or guardians wish The Literacy Hill to liaise with external professionals or support services, including speech pathologists, psychologists, occupational therapists, tutors, medical practitioners, or other allied health professionals, the parent or legal guardian must provide written permission before any information is shared. Parents or guardians are also responsible for obtaining any permissions required by those service providers.

The Literacy Hill is happy to share relevant assessment data, progress information, and educational recommendations with approved professionals when written parental consent has been received. Information will only be shared to the extent necessary to support the student's learning and wellbeing.
